Nathan White

Nathan White is a Canadian journalist. He covers sports for the New Brunswick "Telegraph-Journal", and has also written for the business, provincial news, technology and arts sections. He is the primary beat reporter for the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He served as the color commentator on the official CKNI-FM radio broadcast of the QMJHL's Moncton Wildcats from 2006 to 2008.

White's articles have also appeared in "The Globe and Mail", "National Post", "New Brunswick Reader", "The Hockey News", the "Vancouver Province", the Halifax "Chronicle-Herald", the Moncton "Times & Transcript", the "Edmonton Sun", the Fredericton "Daily Gleaner", "Progress" magazine, the "Calgary Herald" and "Fred".

In 2008, White was named one of New Brunswick's 21 Leaders for the 21st century by the organization [http://www.21inc.ca/ 21 Inc.] In 2007, he received the 2006 [http://ajas.ca/category.htm#NewJournalist Jim MacNeill Best New Journalist Award] at the 26th Annual [http://www.ajas.ca/ Atlantic Journalism Awards] . The award recognizes "creativity, persistence, initiative and ingenuity" in print, television or radio journalism published or broadcast in an Atlantic Canadian media outlet. He was a finalist for the award the previous year.

The founding editor of "Fred", an alternative newspaper in Fredericton, White also served as managing editor of "The Brunswickan", the University of New Brunswick's student newspaper and the oldest official student publication in Canada. He was a recipient of a [http://www.cup.ca/jhm/ John H. MacDonald Award] for Excellence in Student Journalism awarded by the Canadian University Press in 2004.
