Bukit Jalil LRT station

Bukit Jalil LRT station

Bukit Jalil LRT station (simply known as Bukit Jalil) is an LRT station in Bukit Jalil, a suburb about 20km south of Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.

It is operated under the Sri Petaling Line "(formerly known as STAR LRT)". This station is used by many sports fans due to its proximity to the National Sports Complex. This station opens at 6.00am and closes at 11.25pm daily. Like most other LRT stations operating in Klang Valley, this station is elevated.

Bukit Jalil station is also the nearest station to Technology Park Malaysia, Malaysia's most advanced and comprehensive centre for research and development for knowledge-based industries.

Bukit Jalil LRT station is located after the Sungai Besi station and before the terminus, the Sri Petaling station.

This station was used as a filming location for the 1999 movie "Entrapment", starring Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones. However, the signage at this station that was used for the movie was Pudu instead of Bukit Jalil.

Incidents and accidents

On September 24, 2008, two LRT trains collided about 200m from this station. A carriage of one of the trains involved in the accident hit the rear of the other train. Train services to and from this station, along with the Sungai Besi and Sri Petaling LRT stations, have been temporarily halted.

Four passengers were injured in this accident.
