Longmynd hike

Longmynd hike

The Longmynd Hike is a 50 mile competitive hike, run by the 2nd Longmynd Scout Group, that must be completed in under 24 hours. It takes place annually (usually the first weekend in October) in the Long Mynd Hills near Church Stretton, Shropshire. The hike has been running since 1967 (with the exception of 2001 due to the foot and mouth outbreak). Fl/Lt Barker won the first Longmynd staff in a time of 21 hours 24 minutes. The current course record holder is Andrew Davies with his 2007 time of 7 hours 51 minutes. [ [http://www.longmyndhike.org.uk/ The Longmynd Hike ] ]
