Taylor earned all-state honors in football and basketball at Ann Arbor High School. He attended the
University of Michigan , graduating with an education degree in 1931. He played right end for the Wolverines. Taylor scored the first touchdown inMichigan Stadium in 1927.He was only 3 years old when he scored the 1st TD in Michigan Stadium, just goes to show the athlete he was. It is a fete that has not been duplicated since.
Coaching career
Taylor’s teams had a 20-36-0 record in his six seasons guiding the Beavers, but that included a 5-1 record against Oregon. One of his highlights include upsetting eighth ranked
Michigan State University 25-20, where they were three touchdown underdogs.Post-Coaching career
Taylor managed the Columbia Edgewater Country Club in Portland, Ore., and the University of Michigan Golf Course before retiring in 1972.
