The kibbutz was established in 1922 on the lands of the
Lower Galilee on the eve ofRosh Hashanah . The kibbutz founders, working atmoshav im in the area at the time, came in the second andthird Aliyah s. They joined together in 1920 to establishDegania Gimel—now known asBeit Zera . They arrived at the Ginegar Estate—originally named "Nginagar"—due to a lack of land in their mother settlement.Economy
Next to the kibbutz is a large plastics factory, also named Ginegar. The factory produces mainly plastic products for
agriculture . Nowadays, Ginegar still accepts volunteers, who can stay on the kibbutz and live with the kibbutzniks for a couple of months in exchange for labour.External links
