The Communist Party of British Columbia is the British Columbia branch of the Communist Party of Canada. Its leader is Sam Hammond.

From the 1945 British Columbia election to the 1956 election, it was known as the Labour Progressive Party.

In the 2001 election, it nominated 4 candidates, who together received a total of 381 votes (0.49% of the total votes in the ridings in which they ran). The Communist candidates placed last in 3 of the 4 ridings, and in no case received more than 1% of the vote.

2005 Election

It nominated three candidates in the 2005 election, who won a total of 227 votes (0.01% of the provincial total):

  • Steve Roebuck won 89 votes (0.36% of the total) in Kelowna-Mission,
  • Peter Marcus won 88 votes (0.48%) in Vancouver-Mount Pleasant, and
  • Harjit Singh Daudharia won 50 votes (0.29%) in Surrey-Green Timbers.
