Passion Pop is produced by Miranda Wines Pty Ltd, as are a number of less well-known and similarly priced drinks. Passion Pop is labeled as a carbonated 'passion flavoured' wine, and comes in 750ml bottles. The drink is 9.5%
alcohol , meaning that one bottle contains 5.6standard drink s. Passion Pop now comes in 3 varieties, Mixed Berry, Lemon-Lime and Original. It can be noted that while it is sold as wine in Australia, in many countries (including the entire
European Union ) a beverage with added non-grape flavour would not be allowed to be called wine, even if it is made from a wine base.Packaging and Appearance
Passion Pop comes in a 750mL glass "champagne-style" bottle. It was one of the first beverage products in Australia to utilise a plastic stopper (or "cork"). [Maynard: [http://www.abc.net.au/newcastle/stories/s1386596.htm I'll have half a dozen "Old Farts" and a "Legover", thanks] ,

Like other so-called 'extreme value' wines (such as
Charles Shaw wine in the US), Passion Pop originally had the slang name of the 'two buck chuck ', on account of it costing aroundAUD $2. It now sells between theAUD $4 - $6 price range (as of 2007).Passion Pop in Australian Culture
Passion Pop is generally consumed by 14-24 year olds, both because of its cheap price (refer to above) and because the taste is not potent, it is thus often consumed by first-time alcoholic drinkers. Due to its sweetness, it is more often preferred by young females than males, however a shift in Australian culture has seen males increasingly drinking it. Much like the "dirty thirty"(VB's low price of around $30 for a carton) it is most popular with Australians in the southern suburbs.Fact|date=June 2008
