Jimmy Tau (born July 23 1980 in Kimberley, Northern Cape) is a South African football (soccer) defender for Kaizer Chiefs and South Africa.

He was a participant at the 2006 African Nations Cup in Egypt.

He has often been compared to the likes of Philipp Lahm for his pace and composure.

In the season 06/07 he was often used as a substiute, but as of season 07/08 was a regular and started every game.
