James Reid is the singer and guitarist in the New Zealand band The Feelers. He started a new record label Broken Records. The first signing was "THE VALVES" [http://profile.myspace.com/thevalvesband] with their debut album "Liberty Angel"

He has two older sisters and two older brothers, one of which is Donald Reid who is also an accomplished songwriter who has co-written some songs with James and also released his own album.

James attended the same primary school, Avonhead Primary as another member of The Feelers, Hamish Gee. He then went on to Intermediate school at Waihi School, Winchester, South Canterbury, then attended Christ's College, Canterbury in Christchurch before studying fine art and film at Canterbury University. When The Feelers started to make progress he put his study on hold.

Since then he has gone on to front one of the most successful bands in New Zealand history. The Feelers have had 20 top 20 hits and 4 number 1 albums.
