Stephanie Cheng is a female cantopop singer in Hong Kong introduced by Go East Music (consolidated with Universal Music in 2003). She was born in Hong Kong and studied at Heep Yunn College and the Australian International School. After her graduation she began modeling jobs until she was invited to be a singer.

Her first album, "Grown Up", features the hit songs "Lifelong Learning" (終生學習) and "Treat as an Adult" (成人對待), garnered her public attention. Her song "Lifelong Learning" led to her rise in popularity.

In September 2004, Stephanie Cheng released her second album "Step by Step". Songs in this album, such as "Lost Character" and "Red Flower Club" (紅花會) were a hit with the public and music charts.

Then in 2005 she released her third album "Beat Beat", with the songs "Been Loving You For Long"(愛得耐) and "Not Convenient"(不便) both achieving popularity at the time. In 2005, she was the subject of a kidnap threat and was given 24 hour police protection.

In November 2006, she released her fourth album "Honey" featuring the hit song "Traffic Lights" (紅綠燈), which reached #1 on the RTHK (Radio Television Hong Kong) chart on 21.10.2006, and the top 3 on other pop music charts in Hong Kong. Traffic Lights was not the only popular song, as another track on the album became very popular, as well. Called "Honey", it reached the top spot on the Jade Gold Music.

In 2007 she released her followup to the smash hit "Traffic lights" with "Shopping in Tokyo" (東京百貨). The music video for this song was filmed in Japan. Her latest album "Super Girl" was released on the September 19, 2007. This was the first album she published after joining Starbuz (a division of East Asia).
