Fillies' Mile

__NOTOC__The Fillies' Mile is a Group 1 flat horse race in the United Kingdom open to two-year-old thoroughbred fillies. It is run over a distance of 1 mile (1,609 metres) at Ascot Racecourse, and it takes place annually in late September.

The race was first run in 1973. It was promoted to Group 1 status, the highest grade, in 1990, having been previously classed at Group 2 level.

As part of the [http://www.breederscup.com/challenge.aspx Breeders' Cup Challenge] series, the winner of the 2008 Fillies' Mile automatically qualifies for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.
