Hintalo Wajirat

Hintalo Wajirat is one of the 36 woredas in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia. Located in the Debubawi Zone at the eastern edge of the Ethiopian highlands, Debubawi Zone, Hintalo Wajirat is bordered on the south by Raya Azebo, on the southwest by Alaje, on the west by Samre, on the north by Enderta, and on the east by the Afar Region; Hintalo Wajirat surrounds the woreda of Mek'ele on all sides.

Towns in Hintalo Wajirat include Adigudem, Debub, and Hintalo.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 150,504, of whom 76,639 were males and 73,865 were females; 17,244 or 11.46% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 29.1%. With an estimated area of 1,764.07 square kilometers, Hintalo Wajirat has an estimated population density of 85.3 people per square kilometer, which is less than the Zone average of 133.18.
