Ganja Bridge

Ganja Bridge

Ganja Bridge is the nickname of a small bridge in Jamaica, on the old road from Montego Bay to Negril. It gets its name from the fact that the locals are often seen peddling cannabis, or ganja as it is called in Jamaica, to tourists on their way from the airport to Negril. Cars and vans are forced to slow for a sharp s-turn immediately preceding the bridge. The peddlers emerge at this point, often with large bundles of ganja.

With the construction of the new toll highway, the bridge is now bypassed, making its future uncertain.
