- Hassan al-Amri
Hassan al-Amri ( _ar. حسن العمري) (born 1916) He was born in a Yemeni village called Al-Amaryah -- his surname indicates that, this village is in Al-Hada District. He was the Prime Minister of the
Yemen Arab Republic five terms between 1964 and 1971.Al-Amri's first three terms were served under President
Abdullah as-Sallal . The dates of these terms were:*
10 February to29 April 1964
*6 January to20 April 1965
*21 July 1965 to18 September 1966 His final two terms were under President
Abdul Rahman al-Iryani .*
21 December 1967 to9 July 1969
*24 August to5 September 1971 On August 29, 1971 he shot to death a photographer during an altercation. The President,
Abdul Rahman al-Iryani , removed him from the Prime Ministership, as well as from his command of the army. Al-Amri then lived in exile inLebanon .
