Sandy Mutch

Alexander 'Sandy' Mutch (born in 1892 Inverurie)-- 1987, South Shields, England, was a football (soccer) player. He is generally remembered for being the longest-serving individual of Newcastle United F.C., dedicating sixty-four years of his life to serving the club. He played for Huddersfield Town between 1910 and 1922, wining the FA Cup once.Mutch joined Newcastle in 1922 and after retiring as a player went on to coach the first-team. He was also employed as a physiotherapist at the club, after studying medicine at school. He left Newcastle in 1986 due to poor health. He died of old age and poor health in 1987
