Richard Bently Boone

Richard Bently Boone (February 24, 1930 – February 8, 1999) was an American jazz musician, trombonist and vocalist. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and joined the United States Army where he played in military bands. He left the army and moved to Los Angeles, California in 1958. From 1961 to 1966 he toured with singer Della Reese and then played with Count Basie from 1966 to 1969. In 1970 he emigrated to Copenhagen, Denmark. In 1972 he joined the Danish Radio Big Band and played with them until 1985.

He died on February 8, 1999 in Copenhagen.

Richard B. Boones collection of private memorabilia is today placed in the Jazz collections at the University Library of Southern Denmark.
