Dacher Keltner is a professor of psychology at University of California, Berkeley as well as the Director for Greater Good Science Center, formerly known as the Center for the Development of Peace and Well-Being. Professor Keltner received his B.A. in Theatre Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara and his Ph.D. from Stanford University, and he completed three years of post-doctoral work with Paul Ekman at the University of California, San Francisco. He is the author of more than 80 scholarly articles and two books.
Current research in his laboratory focuses on prosocial behavior, power and moral reasoning, and collective emotions.
Greater Good Science Center
The Greater Good Science Center publishes a magazine called Greater Good four times a year. Along with co-editor Jason Marsh and other researchers, Keltner highlights ground breaking scientific research into the roots of compassion and altruism, and fuses this science with inspiring stories of compassion in action, providing a bridge between social scientists and parents, educators, community leaders, and policy makers.
