At the end of 2007 the group employed almost 6,000 people in 29 countries across the globe, managing in excess of 1.31 million vehicles. LeasePlan Corporation holds a universal bank licence since 1993 and is supervised by the Dutch Central Bank. LeasePlan Corporation is owned by a consortium consisting of the Volkswagen Group (50%), Mubadala Development Company (25%) and the Olayan Group (25%).
The main brand is LeasePlan - the company specialising in the day-to-day management of vehicle fleets. LeasePlan offers maintenance, vehicle replacement, insurance and reporting.
On
October 5 ,2006 the company became an official sponsor ofSpyker MF1 Team at least for the 3 nextFormula One World Championship s, starting from 2007. Also the company will become an official supplier to the Spyker MF1 Team.Since 2003, LeasePlan Australia has been the major sponsor of the Western Bulldogs Football Club in the
