cat shark of the familyScyliorhinidae found in the Indo-West Pacific from theSeychelles ,Japan , the East China Sea, thePhilippines ,Australia ,New Caledonia , andMozambique , betweenlatitude s 39° N and 22° S, at depths of between 680 and 900 m. Its length is up to 60 cm.The little-known longhead catshark inhabits deep water, probably near the bottom. This species is the first record of a
cartilaginous fish manifesting rudimentaryhermaphroditism .Reproduction is
