The smallfin catshark, "Apristurus parvipinnis", is a cat shark of the family Scyliorhinidae in the order Carcharhiniformes, found in the western Atlantic from the northeastern Gulf of Mexico off Florida, Gulf of Campeche, Panama, Colombia, and off French Guiana, at depths of between 635 and 1,115. Its length is up to 48 cm. The smallfin catshark has its second dorsal fin distinctly larger than the first.

The smallfin catshark is oviparous with one egg per oviduct.
