Escobar signed as a
free agent with Anaheim before the 2004 season. As the second starter in the Angels rotation, Escobar went 11-12, but led his team in ERA (3.93), strikeouts (191, a career high), WHIP (1.29) andinnings pitched (208.1, also a career high).In mlby|2006, Escobar had an impressive season as a starter despite an 11-13 record with his low 3.61 ERA. In {mlby|2007, Escobar went 18-7 with a 3.40 ERA and 160 strikeouts, his best year by far.
In March mlby|2008, Escobar revealed that he had a tear in his right
