He is 175 cm tall.
At the 2004 Summer Olympics he ranked 7th in the 85 kg category, lifting 367.5 kg in total.[2]
Martirosyan participated in the men's -85 kg class at the 2006 World Weightlifting Championships and won the bronze medal, finishing behind Andrei Rybakou and Aslambek Ediev.[1] He snatched 172 kg and jerked an additional 198 kg for a total of 370 kg, 13 kg behind winner Rybakou.[3]
At the 2008 Summer Olympics he won the bronze medal in the 85 kg category, with a total of 380 kg.[2]
He was the silver medal in the 85 kg category in snatch at the 2009 World Weightlifting Championships.[4]
