Tormod Haugen (born
May 12 1945 ,Trysil ,Norway ) is a Norwegian author.He was educated in the
University of Oslo and his first novel from 1973 was "Ikke som i fjor" (Not like last year). After his debut he has written many books, primarily youths and childrensbooks, and he has become one of the most acclaimed writers of children's literature in Scandinavia.A recurring theme in his writing is the lonely child whose feelings and wishes are disregarded by the adult world and who as a consequence of this winds up in situations of outside of his control.
He is a winner of the prestigious
Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1990. As a translator he has translated C.S.Lewis' Narnia books into Norwegian.Bibliography
