Past_members =Hans Orifice (aka Jim Thompson) was ultimately the same character as
GWAR drummerHans Sphincter , who underwent a name change in 1987. Thompson left due to touring commitments with his main band,the Alter Natives , who released three albums onSST Records ). In 1989, Hans Orifice briefly returned to the band, only to leave again to study Necro Voo-Doo Doo-Doo in the swamps of Louisiana, being replaced by current drummerJizmak Da Gusha .In 2000, Thompson joined with Bob Miller and formed an experimental group called Plasmodium, described as "Using a dizzying array of drum loops, keyboards, trumpets, diodes, crystals, mirrors, and audio-visual surveillance monitors finetuned to paranormal frequencies, Plasmodium gives the psychic phenomenon known as clairaudience a sound, so to speak, and they paint a "sound-surveillance" portrait of sonic apparitions that they channel in their laboratories." They have released one CD on Dry County Records, named "Clairaudience."
