"Take Me Away" was the second single released in Canada from Fefe Dobson's self-titled debut album and the first to be released internationally.

Dobson said of the song, "I relate to it in a certain way, but it was really inspired to me by Sid and Nancy, and John and Yoko, just knowing that there's so many people out there that are in relationships, and they can't be together because of age, race, religion, or maybe it's because the parents don't like the guy or the girl. Of course I can relate, but so can my mother, or the girl next door. A lot of people can relate to that situation."Fact|date=September 2008
