WWBD is a radio station in Bamberg, South Carolina that is owned by Miller Communications, a company based in Sumter.

The station started as an oldies station until Miller acquired it in 2003. It is also the home of Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School football and Clemson Tigers football. Some of the artists that can be found on The Bad Dog are Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Styx, and lesser-known classic rock artists like the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Little Feat and Average White Band. It is Orangeburg's home for John Boy and Billy every weekday morning. And weekday afternoons it's Multiple Award winning radio personality and producer Russ T. Fender.

Frequency Change

WWBD is part of a large frequency swap in Charleston and Myrtle Beach. The 96.1 frequency in Charleston moved to the Myrtle Beach market and became the new home of WKZQ-FM. WKZQ's former 101.7 frequency moved to Hanahan and is owned by Apex Broadcasting. This is all to allow the Charleston metro area to get a new station (which will actually be the license for WWBD), move it to Isle of Palms, and sell the station to Apex. This switch should be completed by December of 2008. Future plans for both 95.9 once it moves to Charleston and any potential replacement for the classic rock format in Orangeburg have not been announced by either Apex or Miller Broadcasting.
