When she was in her late 20s, she married a businessman, Bill Green who was almost twice her age and a good friend of Frank Sinatraand Edgar Bronfman. A graduate of Vassar, Judy Green had already published her first novel. She went on to author three more books. Irving Lazar was her first agent and Bob Gottlieb was her editor.

The wife of businessman Bill Green, she resided on Park Avenue. They formerly had an estate in Mount Kisco where their guests included Frank and Barbara Sinatra, Ann and Morton Downey, Bennett and Phyllis Cerf, Rosalind Russell and Freddie Brisson, Claudette Colbert, and Pamela and Leland Hayward, among others.

In his late sixties, Bill Green died suddenly of congestive heart failure, having been stricken while they were staying at Claudette Colbert's home in Barbados.

Death

She endured a 10 month-long battle with pancreatic and liver cancer. She died on September 14 2001 at home, aged 69, having left the hospital for the last time on Monday, September 10.
