- Ennis railway station
Ennis railway station serves the town of
Ennis inCounty Clare , Ireland. The station forms part of theWestern Railway Corridor , the name given to a group of lines in the west of Ireland betweenLimerick andSligo . Passenger services along these lines have been run down since the mid 1970s, until it was proposed to utilise theNational Development Plan to fund regeneration of the railway in the west. As part of this, a commuter service between Ennis and Limerick Colbert station was restarted in 2003. Services are planned to extend toAthenry by 2009.The station opened on
