- Phạm Xuân Ẩn
°Phạm Xuân Ẩn (September 12th 1927- September 20th 2006) was a Vietnamese general with nickname "Hai Trung" or "Tran Van Trung". He worked in
South Vietnam forReuters ,Time magazine and theNew York Herald Tribune during theVietnam War while simultaneously reported forNorth Vietnam . His first Viet Minh medal came after the battle ofAp Bac and he went on to make a major contribution to the ultimate defeat of the US and Saigon. Pham Xuan An was born in 1927 in Binh Truoc, Bien Hoa, Dong Nai province. His grandfather who was a headmaster of a school in Hue was achieved the King's gold ring. His father was a high-level engineer of Public Administration Department. He was born in Bien Hoa hospital by help of French doctors. Although his father did not get the French nationality.

When he was a child, he lived in
Sai Gon . Then, he came to live inCan Tho and studied in College of Can Tho.WhenAugust Revolution began, he left the school and joinedVolunteer Youth Organisation . After that, he studied a course organised byViet Minh .In the 1950's he attendedOrange Coast College (OCC), earning an Associate of Arts degree. He wrote for the campus newspaper, then called The Barnacle.After the Vietnam War
He died on September 20, 2006 in
Ho Chi Minh City in a military hospital from complications ofemphysema .References
