Forge World is the name of a subsidiary company of
Games Workshop [ [http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/fw_faq.htm Welcome to the Forge World website ] ] run by Tony Cottrell, which designs, moulds, and sellsresin model vehicles for the various Games Workshop games, primarily "Warhammer 40,000 " and "Warhammer Fantasy Battle ", but also terrain pieces, and models for Epic,Battlefleet Gothic andWarmaster , and pieces just for show.In January 2007, Forge World has released its own game system,
Aeronautica Imperialis , an aircraft combat game using aircraft and ground defense pieces of the same scale as Epic 40,000. Recently, Forge World has also expanded into infantry-sized miniatures as well, with soldiers for the Elysian Drop Troopers, Death Korps of Krieg, and Tallarn Desert Raiders. They also sell transfers and model parts that can be used to customise official Games Workshop miniatures. Most Forge World models require special rules (found in the
Imperial Armour series of books).With the release of
