Forge World

:"This article refers to the real world company that produces models for Games Workshop games. For the type of planet in the fictional Warhammer 40,000 universe, see Forge Worlds."

Forge World is the name of a subsidiary company of Games Workshop [ [http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/fw_faq.htm Welcome to the Forge World website ] ] run by Tony Cottrell, which designs, moulds, and sells resin model vehicles for the various Games Workshop games, primarily "Warhammer 40,000" and "Warhammer Fantasy Battle", but also terrain pieces, and models for Epic, Battlefleet Gothic and Warmaster, and pieces just for show.

In January 2007, Forge World has released its own game system, Aeronautica Imperialis, an aircraft combat game using aircraft and ground defense pieces of the same scale as Epic 40,000. [ [http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/RULES_AND_ACCESSORIES.html Forge World RULES AND ACCESSORIES ] ]

Forge World models are usually models of rare or variant vehicles, from Super-Heavy Tanks and Titans to Fightercraft, Dragons, Daemons, Giant Monsters, and Turrets. Recently, Forge World has also expanded into infantry-sized miniatures as well, with soldiers for the Elysian Drop Troopers, Death Korps of Krieg, and Tallarn Desert Raiders. They also sell transfers and model parts that can be used to customise official Games Workshop miniatures. Most Forge World models require special rules (found in the Imperial Armour series of books).

With the release of Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse in late 2007, Forge World's models have increased significantly in demand.Fact|date=April 2008 Orders have overwhelmed their small staff and this has increased wait times significantly.Fact|date=April 2008

Forge World will release a book containing rules for the use of many of their products in early 2008, and will also include new formations.
