- SuperSeaCat
SuperSeaCat is company operating fast ferries between
Helsinki ,Finland andTallinn ,Estonia .Sea Containers owned the company until January 2008, when it was sold to theGreece -basedEugenides Group .The term SuperSeaCat has been used as name for Sea Containers' non-
catamaran fast ferries since1997 . From the year 2000 onwards the company operated one SuperSeaCat (later three) underSilja Line brand between Helsinki and Tallinn. In 2006 Sea Containers sold Silja Line toTallink , a competingBaltic Sea ferry operator. However, the Silja Line SuperSeaCat's could not be included in the sale as by acquiring them Tallink would have had adominant market position in Helsinki—Tallinn fast boat traffic. As a result Sea Containers established SuperSeaCat as a new subsiadiary to continue traffic on the route. In January 2008 SeaContainers sold the SuperSeaCat operations to the Greece-basedAegean Speed Lines , who will be continuing traffic on the route as before.
