Tamworth, New South Wales where she worked as a reporter, producer and newsreader forPrime Television . During her ten year association with Prime she became the face of northern New South Wales.Gillies was the "Weekend Sunrise" sport presenter and regularly filled in on the weekday "Sunrise" if
Natalie Barr ,Mark Beretta orMelissa Doyle are away, taking their position reading the news, sport report or presenting the show. Gillies used to also regularly present Seven's late news updates, sharing the position withChris Bath andSamantha Armytage . In December 2006, Gillies was regular host of the weekend sport report on Sydney's edition of "Seven News ", filling in forNick McArdle , who has since left the network.Gillies most recognised role was on "
