Magnetic accelerator gun


Often in science fiction, a magnetic accelerator gun (MAG) is a general term for any weapon that converts magnetic energy, rather than the more conventional chemical energy, into kinetic energy for a projectile. Variations include but are not limited to:-
*Coilguns
*Mass drivers
*Railguns
*Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch SystemA larger version is sometimes called a magnetic accelerator cannon, or MAC.
