"Stone Free" is a song by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. It was the first song that Jimi Hendrix wrote after he arrived in England [1] . Recorded on November 2, 1966 and released first on December, 1966 as the B-side of Hendrix's first single "Hey Joe".

It was later released on the USA compilation version of "Are You Experienced" in 1967, and as a single in the USA in December 1969 backed with .

The bassline for the song was borrowed from Mar-Keys song "Philly Dog". [Record Collector issue 330 (2006) p. 94]

Supergrass recorded a cover of the song that was available on a limited-edition 7" vinyl companion disc to certain packagings of the 12" vinyl release of their debut album, "I Should Coco".

"" was also the name of a 1993 Jimi Hendrix tribute album featuring his songs performed by various artists, including Eric Clapton, Living Colour, The Cure and Pretenders.
