Scott Alan Moore (born November 17 1983 in city-state|Long Beach|California) is a current infielder in Minor League Baseball who plays in the Baltimore Orioles organization. He was born on the same day as major league stars Ryan Braun and Nick Markakis.

Moore made his major league debut on September 4, by|2006 against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was called up again on July 20, by|2007 to start at first base against the Arizona Diamondbacks after a suspended Derrek Lee and an injured Daryle Ward left the Cubs in need of a first baseman. Moore was sent down on July 24 after the suspension of Lee ended. On August 31, Moore was traded from the Chicago Cubs to the Baltimore Orioles along with pitcher Rocky Cherry for starting pitcher Steve Trachsel.

2002 MLB Draft

Moore was selected in the first round of the 2002 Major League Baseball Draft as the eighth overall pick by the Detroit Tigers. Although he was drafted by the Tigers, he never played a single game with Detroit. The Tigers were using Brandon Inge as their everyday third baseman and decided to trade Moore to the Chicago Cubs.

Joining the Cubs

Moore was sent to Chicago as one of four players to be traded in 2005 for pitcher Kyle Farnsworth. He didn't become the full time starter everyone expected in the Cubs organization because of Aramis Ramírez blocked his playing time at third base during the 2005-07 season.
