Tharaka

Tharaka

Tharaka (Pronounced Thaa-ra-ka), was a mythological king from Lanka.

According to legend, he designed the craft, "Dandu Monara", which was able to fly, but he was unable to build it. And the king Ravana built it. Stories told from Ramayana tell of abducting queen Seetha from Rama.cite journal | author=Sonya Rhie Quintanilla| title=Āyāgapaṭas: Characteristics, Symbolism, and Chronology| journal=Artibus Asiae| year=2000| volume=60| issue=1| page=79-137| url=http://www.jstor.org/pss/3249941] cite book | title=Sree Rama Sahasranama Dasakoti Archana Festival| last=All India Ramayana Conference| date=1973| publisher=Sree Seetha Ramabhaktha]
