Ron Cooper (football coach)

Ron Cooper (born February 11, 1962) is the Assistant Head Coach for the Defensive Secondary at the University of South Carolina. Previously he was the head football coach at the University of Louisville from 1995 to 1997. Some speculation about his firing can about after allegations that there were strippers and exotic dancers at a public golf event thrown by Ron Cooper in which his players and coaches attended. There were also allegations of him punching and hitting his players, all of which he denied. In his final season in his final season at U of L he posted a stout 1 -10 record. Upon his firing he did not hesitate to play the race card. His record there was 13-20. He has also served as the head football coach at Eastern Michigan University (1993-1994), and Alabama A&M (1998-2001). Other coaching stops include University of Wisconsin-Madison and University of Notre Dame. He is an alumnus of Jacksonville State University.
