Curt Jonathan Gough DiCamillo is a noted architectural historian and, since 2004, the Executive Director of the National Trust for Scotland Foundation USA.^[1]

Previously, he worked for 13 years for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston^[2] and taught on the subject of British historic houses at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.^[2]

Biography

DiCamillo was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and grew up in nearby Merion, Pennsylvania and Clermont, Florida. As of 2011, he lives in Boston, Massachusetts. His sister is children's book author Kate DiCamillo.

DiCamillo is an authority on the British country house and has written and lectured extensively in the U.S. and abroad on the subject. Since 1999 he has maintained an award-winning website, The DiCamillo Companion to British & Irish Country Houses,^[2] that seeks to document every English, Scottish, Welsh, and Irish country house, standing or demolished. In recognition of his work helping to preserve historic British buildings DiCamillo has been presented to the late Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother and the Prince of Wales.

Organizations and honors

DiCamillo is a member of the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain,^[3] an alumnus of the Royal Collection Studies^[2] program and The Attingham Summer School for the Study of Country Houses,^[4] a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts,^[2] and a Fellow of the Massachusetts Historical Society.^[2] He is listed in Who's Who in America,^[2] Who's Who in the World, and the Social Register.^[2]
