Zarechny, Sverdlovsk Oblast

Zarechny ( _ru. Заре́чный) is a town in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, located on the Pyshma River east of Yekaterinburg at coord|56.8133|N|61.3333|E. Population: 27,914 (2002 Census); 27,675 (1989 Census).

Urban-type settlement status since 1957; town status since 1992.

There are plans for an 800MW reactor [http://www.rosatom.ru/en/press-releases/11292_05.08.2008] [http://www-frdb.iaea.org/fulltext/01_generalInformation.pdf] , and there are two older reactors that have been decommisioned. Zarechny [http://zarinfo.ru/] is the home of the martial arts club "Desantnik" [http://desantnic.ru/] , which is based opposite the memorial to soldiers fallen in modern wars.
