- René Jeannel
René Jeannel (
23 March 1879 -20 February 1965 ) was a Frenchentomologist . He was director of theMuséum national d'histoire naturelle from 1945-1951. Jeanell's most important work was on the insect fauna ofcaves in thePyrenees , France and in the Carpathians, Romania. He also worked inAfrica . Jeanell specialised inLeiodidae (then Anisotomidae) but authored a large number of papers and works on otherColeoptera . He was a member of theRomanian Academy Works
