Raúl Alexander Chávez (born March 18, 1973 in Valencia, Carabobo State, Venezuela) is a Major League Baseball catcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He bats and throws right-handed.

Previously, Chávez played for the Montreal Expos (mlby|1996-mlby|1997), Seattle Mariners (mlby|1998), Houston Astros (mlby|2000, mlby|2002-mlby|2005) and Baltimore Orioles (mlby|2006). He also played in the New York Yankees minor league system in by|2007.

Chávez is known for his defense, and is considered to call a solid game.
