Carol Newinn (Vietnamese: Nguyen) is the first Vietnamese-American cheerleader for the Houston Texans. Her family left Saigon, South Vietnam, on April 30, 1975, in the fall of Saigon. Her father, Henry Newinn, was an office manager for the U.S. State Department and his family were allowed to immigrate to the United States. She has one older brother, Johnny, known for his talent as an internationally recognized Elvis tribute artist.
