Maruta

Maruta may refer to:

  • A special project code-name of a Japanese military unit during the Second World War. They performed biological and chemical experiments on alive prisoners. 'Maruta' means "wood log" indicating that they treated those prisoners as non-living experimental subjects. It is also termed 'Unit 731'. (See Unit 731)
  • The Romanian TV host Catalin Maruta
  • A Grindcore/Death Metal band from Florida, signed to Willowtip Records
