Christopher L. Hayes is a progressive American journalist and the Washington, D.C. editor of "The Nation". His work has appeared in publications such as "In These Times" [ cite web | url =http://www.inthesetimes.com/about/author/175/ | title =Christopher Hayes's author bio page at In These Times ] , "The American Prospect", "The New Republic", "The Washington Monthly" and the "Chicago Reader". Hayes resides in Washington, D.C. He is a frequent guest on the MSNBC cable news show, “Countdown with Keith Olbermann.”

Biography

Hayes attended Brown University for his undergraduate education, where he received a B.A. in Philosophy. Previously, Hayes was Adjunct Professor of English at St. Augustine College in Chicago.

From 2006 through 2007, Hayes was a Puffin Foundation Writing Fellow at the Nation Institute [ cite web | url =http://www.thenation.com/directory/bios/christopher_hayes | title =Bio page at The Nation ] , and a Contributing Writer for The Nation. On November 1, 2007, "The Nation" named him as its Washington, D.C. Editor, replacing David Corn. He is also currently a Senior Editor at "In These Times", a progressive monthly magazine based in Chicago. Personal

Hayes married long-time partner Kate A. Shaw on July 14, 2007, in a Chicago ceremony officiated by Judge Richard A. Posner of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. The couple now lives in Washington, D.C.
