Roman numeral for five and there were five members in the band. V made their debut at the same time as McFly by supporting Busted's arena tour in the spring of 2004.Their first single, "Blood Sweat & Tears", was released in May 2004 went into the official UK singles chart at number 6. The video was shot in
Miami in February 2004 and the single contained a collaboration with their friends McFly, called "Chills in the Evening" written byTom Fletcher from McFly andJames Bourne from Busted. The band's second single, released in the August 2004, was a double A-side consisting of a new song "Hip To Hip" and a cover of theJackson Five 's song "Can You Feel It" (with a memorable video consisting of the band dressed as a double glazing salesman, ice cream man, postman, milkman and paperboy) and charted at number 5 in the UK official singles chart.The third single, "You Stood Up" made #12 in the charts after an appearance on Top of The Pops, but their debut album of the same name failed to reach the Top 75 album charts. In February 2005, V announced their decision to split on their website.

Mark Feehily ofWestlife announced that he isgay and that he is currently in a relationship with V band memberKevin McDaid . In July 2006, band memberAaron Buckingham also announced he is gay in a guest column inAttitude Magazine . Mark Harle is now the drummer for indie band 'Little Comets'.According to their MySpace profiles, as of June 2007, Kevin was a photographer and Aaron was singing in theatre shows in the United States. Phill Jupitus' team (includingTom Fletcher (McFly ) andAlan Carr ) managed to guess correctly who he was.In Summer 2008 they appeared on Big Brother's Little Brother due to the fact that 6th evictee Rebecca Shiner had reportedly followed them for a year. She was reunited with a book containing all of her tickets and pictures of her with the band which she had collected during this time.
