- Grandin (ETS)
Grandin (Government Centre) Station is an LRT Station operated by
Edmonton Transit System in the city ofEdmonton ,Alberta ,Canada . It is an underground station located beneath 110 Street between 99 Avenue and 98 Avenue. It provides service to the Government Centre part of the downtown core and the neighbour of Oliver. The station is connected to the Alberta Legislature and several other government buildings by an undergroundpedway .Grandin (Government Centre) Station was opened in September 1989 when the LRT system was extended 0.8 km south from the Corona Station through a light rail tunnel running beneath the downtown core.
The station features a mural of
Bishop Vital-Justin Grandin , the first Catholic Bishop in Alberta. It was designed by artistSylvie Nadeau and it was donated by the Francophone Jeunesse de l'Alberta.The station is named for nearby [http://www.grandin.ecsd.net/ École/Escuela Grandin School.]
Grandin (Government Centre) Station was the southern terminus of the LRT line prior to the opening of the University Station in August 1992. Grandin (Government Centre) Station is connected to the University Station by the
