Kate Saunders

Kate Saunders, is a British journalist, novelist and actress. She has had a lengthy career writing for a string of national newspapers and magazines in the UK including "The Sunday Times", "Sunday Express", "Daily Telegraph", "She" and "Cosmopolitan".

She has also been a regular contributor with appearances on the "Radio 4" programmes "Woman's Hour", "Start the Week" and "Kaleidoscope". She was, with Sandi Toksvig, a guest on the first episode of the long running news quiz programme "Have I Got News For You".

Saunders has also been a busy author dividing her time between books for children and adults.

Her novels for a younger audience include:
* "Cat and the Stinkwater War"
* "Power Hat Panic"
* "The Belfry Witches" series (which has been adapted into a major BBC TV series).

Her novels for adults include:
* "The Marrying Game"
* "Wild Young Bohemians"
* "Lily-Josephine"
* "Night Shall Overtake Us"
* Bachelor Boys (2004)

She also co-wrote "Catholics and Sex" (1992) with Peter Stanford, which resulted in Stanford's being forced to resign as Editor of the UK's "Catholic Herald".

Saunders is also an actress, famously appearing as a policewoman dated by Rodney Trotter in an episode of "Only Fools and Horses" in 1982.

She lives in London with her son, Felix.
