comic book publishing company, was created in the fall of1976 by three writers and artist friends who were students ofMuskegon Community College , Jeff Cooke,Kevin S. Collier and William Shady.Brief history
Full Circle Comix publishing group was formed in 1976 and published over 60 small press comics and fanzines in during their initial 5 year run. Their first book, "Amazing Stories #1" was dated January 1977, and featured Jeff Cooke's "The Whip", Kevin Collier's "Capt. Head" and William Shady's "The Dead Sleeper". Shady departed the group the first year, and the publishing venture was primarily operated by Cooke and Collier who continued the publishing venture until early 1980. The company featured many members and freelance artists such as Scott Rosema (who would go on to draw for Marvel, DC comics and others), Peter Laird (who went on to create Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Jeff Barker, Mark Heike, Jeff Wilcox, Aaron Wirrick, and Willie Peppers.
The Whip and Capt. Head became the group's primary characters and in 1979 Full Circle went national entering the comics fandom market and received positive reviews. Other characters included The Screech Owl, The Moron and the Human Waste.
In 2004 Full Circle Comix made a brief comeback publishing over a dozen titles including the first new Cooke/Collier team works in over two decades and the new line-up included Jeff's son, Andy Cooke. The company suspended operations that same year. Two new adventures of The Whip and Capt. Head were published during the revival.
Currently, Cooke is involved in many media outlets via writing and still illustrates on occasion. Collier writes and illustrates children's books. Andy has pursued a career in illustrating.
