She went toThailand in the mid-1990s, where she spent more than two years, primarily on retreat at forest monasteries. She has worked continuously to establish training communities for other women wishing to take ordination. In the years following her practice in Thailand, Ajahn Sundara has travelled to teach and lead retreats in the United States and Europe.
