Azuchi-Momoyama period (16th century) of Japan.Due to the death of
Date Masamune 's father,Date Terumune by the hands ofHatakeyama Yoshitsugu , Masamune swore vengeance. After succeeding to the throne of the Date, Masamune would effectively have his revenge by launching an attack against Yoshitsugu at Hitotoribashi in October of1585 . Despite a large imbalance between both forces (Date - 7,000; Hatakeyama - 30,000), Masamune, through his superior abilities in the art of strategy emerged as the victor in this battle by slaying Yoshitsugu, effectively slaking his lust for revenge.References
